About the Artist

Recent works integrate handmade papers and found objects with paintings and monotypes. Monotypes are a unique edition of one created by transferring an image painted onto a plate, usually Plexiglas, with dampened paper placed onto the plate and then applying pressure by hand rubbing or using a press. After drying, the image is enhanced with watercolor, acrylic, pencil, metallic, and collaged elements. Matting and framing of all work meets archival standards. I exhibit my paintings in one-person shows, and national and regional exhibitions throughout the United States.

Works are created intuitively in painting, printmaking, and mixed media, responding to what unfolds with the interaction of inks, pigments, and surfaces shaped by influences of a time and place, the essence of an experience. Fascination for the unpredictable has led to work with monotypes and collagraphs, giving up a degree of control for the element of surprise with the transfer of ink from plate to paper. I paint as an expression of self, for the challenge and joy of it, but knowing visual art must be seen to be heard, my greatest satisfaction comes when it communicates with you. Then, you too become a participant in the conversation with art.

Unique commissioned artwork can be arranged. Available works include original paintings, mixed media monotypes, collagraphs, and handmade paper constructions. Selected Editions include 17 images available as signed/numbered limited edition offset lithographs.
